It’s been seven years, this case is bouncing like a ball in a pinball machine, now this could be finally over. This case started when Apple accused Samsung of stealing ideas and its smartphone designs.
The verdict has given on Thursday, May 24, a decision by a jury in a district court in San Jose, California, America. This verdict means Samsung has to pay Apple $539 million for five patent infringement.
In a press release, Apple said: “The Company has always been about protecting hard work and innovation of our employees”.

Apple also added “This case has always been about more than money. Apple ignited the smartphone revolution with iPhone and it is a fact that Samsung blatantly copied our design. It is important that we continue to protect the hard work and innovation of so many people at Apple.”
Apple concluded by thanking the judge and it is “Pleased” by judgement.
While the court has ruled against Samsung, the latest tussle was obtaining how much Samsung has to pay. Apple has sought a figure it put more than $1 billion dollars. Whereas the Samsung want the final figure link to an individual component. Which is amounted to about $28 Million.
In the end, following the argument from both sides, the court arrived at $539 Million.
To be precise it was $533,316,606 for three apple designs and $5,325,050 for copying iPhone functionalities.
